Tell us about what you do at MindSpring.
As a senior associate here at MindSpring, my main focuses are recruitment and account management. I’m committed to helping our candidates find the ideal position for them. There’s nothing quite like the rush of connecting someone with an opportunity they can feel good about.
What do you find most interesting about working with the MindSpring team?
I appreciate the variation in my day. Although I specialize in recruiting for tech positions, I also have the opportunity to work on placing candidates in non-IT roles. Plus, the people on our team are great. There’s never a dull day.
How does MindSpring support your career and personal goals?
Casey Chism, and the whole team really, have given me endless support. I have the freedom to complete my work in the ways that I feel are most effective.
What do you feel is most important for achieving success in the staffing industry?
I’d say, success in the staffing industry is dependent on mentorship, guidance, and on-going training. You should always try to improve upon your skills and strategize new ways to be more successful.
What’s the biggest benefit to partnering with a staffing firm?
There are quite a few but I believe the biggest benefit to partnering with a staffing firm is the volume of the outreach. Additionally, the fact that we thoroughly pre-screen, have an extensive network, and have a lot of industry-specific expertise makes finding your ideal candidate a breeze.
If you could give one piece of advice to a client/candidate what would it be?
For clients, I would say to be sensitive to the candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
For candidates, don’t be flaky. Also, have a sense of urgency. We’ll help you find your best match, but you have to put your best foot forward.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Chicago?
Eat.
What else do you want to share about yourself?
I have the cutest dog in the world – Jack, a Brussels Griffon.
