Tell us about what you do at MindSpring.

At MindSpring, I connect qualified candidates with their ideal employer. At the same time, I work closely with our clients to gain a deep understanding of their business needs and what type of talent they need to take their initiatives to the next level.

What do you find most interesting about working with the MindSpring team?

The teamwork. A lot of staffing agencies emphasize individual competition over teamwork. The fact that MindSpring fosters a real “one for all, all for one” dynamic creates a culture our teams are excited to be a part of. We all help each other brainstorm innovative ideas, suggest different ways to be successful, and share candidate recommendations.

At MindSpring, we’re transparent with all of our interactions. We take the time to understand if we can confidently place a candidate. Where some staffing firms prioritize quantity over quality, MindSpring values quality over quantity, so we’re only connecting our clients with top talent.

How does MindSpring support your career and personal goals?

MindSpring values us as employees and as individuals. If we speak up about what we’re looking for in our careers and work hard, they’ll help us reach our goals.

What’s the #1 quality you feel is important to achieving success in the staffing industry?

Honesty. As mentioned, we’re transparent with our candidates and clients, and set accurate expectations from the start so there are no surprises at the end. Both our clients and our candidates tend to be just as honest with us, and this creates stronger and more impactful relationships across the board.

What is a unique trait or something that differentiates you from the rest?

My persistence. I’m not afraid to keep calling candidates or to ask for feedback from my clients. I want things to be moving forward at all times, so I do everything in my power to make that happen.

What’s the biggest benefit to partnering with a staffing firm in a job search?

We have meaningful conversations with candidates and only present the best of the best to our clients. If we submit a candidate for a client interview, it’s only because we’re confident that they are qualified for the role and will thrive in the company’s culture. We’ve been working with most of our clients for years, and after developing these relationships, now only need a short period of time to find an ideal candidate for their openings.

If you could give one piece of advice to a client/candidate (depending on if you are in recruiting or sales) what would it be?

Effectively communicate your needs and wants from the beginning and don’t be afraid of over-communicating. This will help us find the right candidate or position for you right away, as well as build an invaluable sense of trust.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Chicago?

Try new things – restaurants, areas in the city, exploring, taking advantage of summer festivals, etc.

Do you have a unique skill or trick?

Eating.
