Tell us about what you do at MindSpring.
As a Technology Recruitment Manager, I recruit the brightest candidates and sell technology opportunities to some of the most respected companies in the Chicagoland area! I take pride in my work and never leave any stone unturned to better support my clients and candidates.
What do you find most interesting about working with the MindSpring team?
The diverse personalities that make up the MindSpring team create a very interesting and fun work environment. Here at MindSpring, it truly is all about getting the work done, having fun, and being successful!
How does MindSpring support your career and personal goals?
MindSpring supports my career and personal goals by understanding the flexibility needed for a busy family. I don’t like cliché’s, but we really do operate with a “work hard, play hard” mentality – as long as you show up every day ready to do your best work, the leadership team will trust you and support you outside of work any way that they can.
What’s the #1 quality you feel is important to achieving success in the staffing industry?
Relationship building throughout the entire recruiting and selling process is what it’s all about. Creating the best possible experience for your candidates and clients is what creates true partnerships. The biggest compliment is when you have been recommended by someone you’ve worked with in the past because they truly trust that you had their best interests in mind.
What is a unique trait or something that differentiates you from other recruiters out there?
The level of credibility and trust that I bring to every search. I take my time to research and inform my clients on compensation averages, marketplace trends, etc. I do the same for my candidates to manage their expectations throughout the entire recruiting process.
What’s the biggest benefit of partnering with a staffing firm in a job search?
I believe the biggest benefit of partnering with a staffing firm is the one-on-one communication and comprehensive assistance from a job-search expert. At MindSpring, we coach our candidates on resumes, interviews, and general career advice as well as help with their negotiations before they accept a job.
If you could give one piece of advice to a client/candidate (depending on if you are in recruiting or sales) what would it be?
The one piece of advice I would give any candidate is to be honest, accessible, and timely when working with a recruiter. If you have something you don’t think we want to hear, it is important to express it.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Chicago?
Sporting events and summertime in the city! Chicago offers so much that is often taken for granted.
What else do you want to share about yourself?
I’ve been married for 16 years with three wonderful, bright kids ranging from age 7-14. I enjoy coaching them in hockey, baseball, softball, etc. When I am not at work, I am at the rink or the ballfields and wouldn’t want it any other way! My kids truly keep me young – it’s so fulfilling being able to pass along my knowledge and love for the game.
