Your (Free) Guide to the Future of Work Post-Pandemic in Chicago

The Covid-19 pandemic caused an abrupt and massive change to how we work. Prior to the pandemic, only about 20% of employed adults worked remotely, according to a survey by the Pew Research Center. That same survey found that, in late 2020, more than 70% of adults were working from home.


So, what comes next? As companies begin to reopen offices and navigate new challenges related to the Delta variant, we wanted to find out what Chicago employers and employees thought about the future of work post-pandemic.


This led us to conduct a survey of more than 120 individuals in the Chicago area to collect their opinions on working from home, hybrid work models, the pros and cons of going back to the office, and more. We compiled the data and feedback we received to create this guide, offering insights on:


  • The importance of flexibility in future work arrangements
  • Increasing emphasis on work-life balance
  • The three trends likely to impact work far into the future
